Welcome to Ms. Berard's Class

My name is Ms. Berard and I am excited to be a part of the Woodford School team! More importantly, I am thrilled to be your child's teacher! It's going to be a great year that's full of learning and new adventures! I look forward to meeting everyone soon, but first, I want you to know a little about me.

 

I grew up in Bennington, Vermont. I have two children who are grown and started their own lives. After graduating high school, I moved away for several years. I started working in retail management, and then got a degree in criminal justice. I eventually came back to Vermont and decided that I wanted to go into the education field instead. 

 

In 2006 I started working at Pownal School in the kindergarten classrooms. I completely enjoyed working there, but decided I wanted my own classroom! I moved to Woodford School in 2018 where I was a 3rd and 4th grade teacher for two years. I then joined the 4th grade team at Molly Stark and now I am back at Woodford Hollow! I'm happy to be back. 

 

I enjoy cooking, traveling, riding my motorcycle, and spending time with my children. I have a passion for the arts and enjoy bringing that into the classroom. Hopefully we will be able to do many projects. 

 

In class we will utilize online learning platforms such as Lexia Core 5 and IXL as Tier II instruction. We will continue to use Savvas Realize, along with Google Classroom. 

 

If you need anything, please do not hesitate to email me. I will be using the ClassDojo app as a means of communication with you and your learners. The app is available at both the Apple Store and on Google Play. I have already set-up the ClassDojo classroom and all parents are either already connected, or an invitation to connect has been sent to the email you have on file with the school.
